Administration - Topic Templates
A template is a topic in Mavim that can be used as a base for another topic.
Through the use of templates, it is possible to supply topics in Mavim with a default description and relationships.
By using templates you can increase the consistency of your database and simplify management of topics in Mavim.
Each template is created in the Objects branch according to a fixed combination of topic type and icon. This is referred to as a template combination.
When a new topic is created in Mavim that adheres to a template combination, you can choose whether the default description, and/or field set(s) and/or field values and/or relationships, defined in the template should be assigned to this new topic.
Note: Only when applying a template the description and the relationships, if any, are added to the topic. This is a copy of the template and not a coupled copy.
This makes it possible to change the description and/or relationships of a topic that has been created based on a template.
Creating a template is done as described in Template Creation.
Applying a created template is done as described in Applying a Topic Template.
