Backup Facilities in the Mavim Online Environment

Backup Retention Overview:

• Databases (Portal & Manager):

  • Backups are available for up to 1 month, with snapshots taken hourly.

• Files on H:\ and S:\ drives:

  • Retention periods:
    • 1 month (4 backups per day)
    • 8 weeks
    • 12 months

How to Restore a Backup:

1. Send an email to the Service Desk at servicedesk@mavim.com.
2. Include:
   • The name of the database or file.
   • The date and time from which it should be restored.

Important Notes:

• Before restoring a database:

  • Ensure all users are logged out of the database.
  • You can check this by:
    • Clicking the Database Manager button.
      
    • Right-clicking the database line and selecting Properties.
      
    • Under the Connections tab, verify that no users are listed.
      

• After the restore:

  • You will receive a confirmation email.
  • Verify that the data is correct.
  • Once approved, users may log in again.
