Can I put a Copy of Our Production Database in the Training Environment
Yes, it is possible to copy your production database to a training environment, but this must be done via the Mavim Service Desk due to security restrictions. This article explains the process and considerations for duplicating a database for training purposes.
Use Case
Use this procedure when:
- You want to test or train users using a copy of your production data.
- You need a safe environment to experiment without affecting live data.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Contact the Service Desk
- A database copy requires the SQL Admin password, which is not provided to users.
- Submit a request to the Mavim Service Desk to initiate the copy.
Step 2: Check Your Database Limit
- By default, each customer has access to 3 databases.
- If you already use all 3, you must:
- Overwrite one of the existing databases, or
- Request an additional database via your Mavim Account Manager (additional costs may apply).
Step 3: Reconfigure Access and Naming
- Go to the MCC: https://connectcenter.mavimcloud.com
- Reassign users to the new database.
- Rename the database via Mavim Manager → Databases tab → Edit button.
