Copying Topics
You can copy a topic and paste it into another part of the topic tree (see Topics: Lower, Above, Below), into the Relationships screen (see Create Relationship) or into the Description screen (see Hyperlinks).
When you copy a topic, its description, relationships and subtopics are also copied.
- Select the topic you want to copy in the Topics screen or Subtopics screen.
- Choose Copy.
- Select the topic where you want to paste the copied topic.
- Choose Paste and then Lower, Above or Below to place the topic in the correct position.
Note:
-
In the Subtopics screen you can select several topics at once by holding CTRL key or SHIFT key while clicking the topics with your mouse.
-
Pay close attention to which relationships are copied;
-
- If you copy a branch from a purple filing cabinet (imported versions), any relationships that exist in the imported version remain linked to the respective topics in the imported version and not to the original topics.
- If you copy a branch into the same filing cabinet then all relationships will be copied and exist between both the copy and the original topics.
- Copying multiple topics, at the same time or one by one, will result in all relationships also being copied. This means that the relationships to the original topics will remain.
