Error: Manager is blocked when starting
When you start the Mavim Manager and receive an error message stating that it is blocked, the issue is likely related to your organization’s Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) cross-tenant access settings. This usually happens when your organization’s outbound access for external collaboration has been disabled.
When someone from outside your organization is invited to collaborate, Microsoft creates a guest account in your directory.
By default:
-
Both inbound (receiving invitations) and outbound (accepting invitations) collaboration are allowed between tenants.
If your IT department has changed these default settings and disabled outbound access, users in your tenant can no longer accept invitations from external tenants. As a result, when you start the Mavim Manager, it will be blocked and show an error message.
How to fix it
Your IT administrator needs to allow access to the Mavim Manager tenant by adding it to the whitelist in your Microsoft Entra cross-tenant access settings.
Steps for your IT administrator:
-
Go to the Microsoft Entra admin center: https://entra.microsoft.com
-
Navigate to External Identities → Cross-tenant access settings.
-
Under Organizations, add the Mavim tenant:
mavimidentity.onmicrosoft.com -
Allow collaboration with this tenant.
-
Save the changes.
Once this configuration is updated, users will be able to start the Mavim Manager without any blocking error.
