How to change views in Mavim Manager
Mavim Manager has several default views configured for your use. It is possible to easily change between views and even create your own custom view that can be loaded when needed.
Mavim Manager starts with the view that was selected when it was previously closed. Every time Manager is started, the main topic Mavim Database will be selected and all sub-topics in the tree structure are shown collapsed.
If you would like to change views quickly you can select one of three standard view:
- Basic View - This view has the following main characteristics:
- The Topics, Description and Relationships windows are shown.
- In the Topics window, the Objects branch is not shown.
- The Standard and Sort/Renumber toolbars are shown.
- Advanced View - This view is the same as the Basic View but also includes the following:
- The Sub-topics tab is shown behind the Topics tab.
- The Fields window is shown as a tab behind the Description.
- The Objects branch is shown in the Topics window.
- Custom View - A Custom View is a user interface lay-out that has been created by the user and can be changed.
Returning to one of these three standard views is done as follows:
- Select the ribbon item
Layout > View > Basic View or
Layout > View > Advanced View or
Layout > View > Custom View.
Creating a Custom View:
In order to create a custom view, you will first need to configure the user interface of Mavim Manager as required. This will mean you will need to move the various panels within Manager to the desired locations, enable and disable panels as needed and resize the panels to your liking. Once that is done, select:
Layout > View > Save as Custom View
Note that this custom view is only available to you. Every user is able to create their own custom view.
