How to Cut, Copy, and Paste Topics

Overview

You can cut, copy, and paste topics using any of the following methods:

• The Edit tab
• The context menu
• Keyboard shortcuts
• The toolbar button

These options allow you to efficiently reorganize or duplicate topics within your topic tree.

Cut a Topic

To remove a topic and prepare it for relocation:

• Edit tab: Go to Edit > Cut
• Context menu: Right-click the topic and select Cut
• Keyboard shortcut: Press CTRL+X

Paste a Topic

To paste a previously cut or copied topic:

• Edit tab: Go to Edit > Paste
• Context menu: Right-click the destination and select Paste
• Keyboard shortcut: Press CTRL+V
  (Note: This shortcut pastes the topic below the selected one)

Copy a Topic

To duplicate a topic without removing it from its original location:

• Edit tab: Go to Edit > Copy
• Context menu: Right-click the topic and select Copy
• Keyboard shortcut: Press CTRL+C
