How to find and replace text in the Description screen

Target audience:
Users editing content in the Description screen who need to locate or update specific text.

Core purpose:
To guide users through using the Find and Replace functions within a single Description screen, and explain how to search across multiple descriptions.


Find text in the Description screen

Use the Find function to search for specific text in the active Description screen.

To start:

  1. Place your cursor in the Description screen.
  2. Go to the Edit tab and select Find.
    Or press Ctrl + F to open it directly.

In the Find window:

  1. Enter the text you want to search for in the Find field.
  2. (Optional) Refine your search using these options:
    • Match Case: Makes the search case-sensitive.
    • Find whole words only: Matches only complete words.
    • Regular Expression: Allows pattern-based searching.
  3. Click Find Next to begin the search.
    The first match will be highlighted in the text.

Replace text in the Description screen

Use the Replace function to substitute one piece of text with another.

To start:

  1. Place your cursor in the Description screen.
  2. Go to the Edit tab and select Replace.
    Or press Ctrl + H to open it directly.

In the Replace window:

  1. Enter your search criteria as described in the Find section.
  2. Enter the replacement text in the Replace with field.
  3. Click Find Next to locate the first match.

Then choose:

  • Replace: Replaces the current match.
  • Replace All: Replaces all matches in the current Description screen.
  • Find Next: Skips the current match and moves to the next one.

⚠️ You must find the text before you can replace it.
