How to format individual table cells in the Description screen

Target audience:
Users working with tables in the Description screen who want to customize the appearance and layout of individual cells.

Core purpose:
To guide users through adjusting the size, alignment, borders, shading, and text direction of one or more table cells.


Adjust cell formatting using Table Properties

  1. Click inside a cell or select multiple cells.
  2. Right-click and choose Table Properties from the context menu.
  3. In the Table Properties window, go to the Cell tab.

 

Available options:

  • Size

    • Enable Preferred Width to set the width of the selected cell(s).
    • You can enter the width in inches or as a percentage of the Description screen width.
  • Vertical alignment

    • Top – aligns text to the top of the cell.
    • Center – centers text vertically.
    • Bottom – aligns text to the bottom of the cell.

Change text direction in a cell

  1. Select the cell where you want to change the text direction.
  2. Right-click and choose Text Direction.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Horizontal (default)
    • Downward – first letter appears at the top of the cell.
    • Upward – first letter appears at the bottom of the cell.

The text will now be oriented based on your selection.


Important notes

  • These settings apply only to the selected cell(s).
  • Text direction changes are useful for narrow columns or rotated headers.
  • Width and alignment settings help improve readability and layout consistency.
