How to generate a manual in PDF format

 

Target audience:

Mavim users who need to create manuals in PDF format from topics in the topic tree.

Purpose:

Guide users through generating a manual in PDF format using Mavim.

Steps to generate a PDF manual

1. Open the publication settings

  • Go to the Modelling tab.
  • In the Publication section, select PDF File.

2. Select a theme

  • A theme is required for PDF generation.
  • For details on theme settings, see Create Word Theme.
    (Themes for Word and PDF share the same configuration principles.)

3. Configure additional settings

  • Choose the topic from which the print job should start.
  • Verify the theme format:
    • Paragraphs format for handbooks.
    • Columns format for work instructions.

4. Generate the PDF

  • Click OK.
  • Enter a file name and select a storage location in the Save dialog box.
  • The PDF manual will be generated and saved to the specified location.

Important notes

  • A theme is mandatory for PDF generation.
  • Theme settings determine the layout and structure of the manual.
  • For advanced customization, edit the Word theme before generating the PDF.
