How to Hide Full URLs in the Description Window on the Mavim Portal
If you want to display a clean hyperlink in the description window without showing the full URL, follow this structured approach using topic linking:
-
Create a New Topic
- Under the relevant section (e.g., “With What”), create a new topic.
- Give it a meaningful name, such as “Work Instruction IT”.
-
Link the Topic to a URL
- Right-click the newly created topic.
- Choose Couple topic with → Internet address.
- Enter the desired URL.
-
Create a Hyperlink in the Description Window
- On the topic where you want the link to appear, insert a hyperlink to the newly created topic (e.g., “Work Instruction IT”).
- The hyperlink will now appear as a clickable name, not a full URL.
Benefits of This Method:
- The link will work on the Portal and open the URL.
- The relationship is visible in the Relationships window, making it usable in Reports.
- This method is considered the official and secure way to link to external content.
Important Notes:
- Direct links placed in the description window cannot be edited via right-click due to security restrictions.
- Always use topic-based linking for better control and visibility.
