How to import a file into the Description screen

Target audience:
Users who want to populate or update the Description screen using external text files.

Core purpose:
To guide users through importing supported file formats into the Description screen, replacing its current contents.


Supported file formats

You can import the following file types:

  • .doc (Microsoft Word 97–2003)
  • .docx (Microsoft Word)
  • .rtf (Rich Text Format)
  • .html (HyperText Markup Language)
  • .txt (Plain Text)

Steps to import a file

  1. Open the Description screen.
  2. Right-click anywhere inside the screen.
  3. Select File > Open from the context menu.
  4. In the file browser window:
    • Navigate to the location of your file.
    • Select the file you want to import.
  5. Click Open to confirm.

⚠️ Important: Importing a file will replace all existing content in the Description screen. Make sure to save or back up any important information before proceeding.


Additional notes

  • This feature is useful for quickly adding structured documentation or pre-written content.
  • Formatting from supported file types (like .docx or .html) will be preserved where applicable.
