How to merge and split table cells in the Description screen

Target audience:
Users working with tables in the Description screen who want to adjust cell layout for better formatting or organization.

Core purpose:
To explain how to merge multiple cells into one or split a single cell into multiple cells within a table.


Merge cells

Use this when you want to combine two or more adjacent cells into one larger cell.

Steps:

  1. Select the cells you want to merge.
  2. Right-click and choose Merge Cells from the context menu.
    Alternatively, use the Table menu and select Merge Cells.
  3. The selected cells will be combined into one.

Split a cell

Use this when you want to divide a single cell into multiple cells, either vertically or horizontally.

Steps:

  1. Select the cell you want to split.
  2. Right-click and choose Split Cells.
  3. In the dialog window:
    • Enter the number of cells to split into.
    • Choose whether to split vertically or horizontally.
  4. Click OK to apply the changes.

Important notes

  • You can only merge cells that are adjacent and within the same row or column.
  • Splitting a cell does not affect the rest of the table layout.
  • Merged cells can be split again using the same method.
