How to Publish Bilingually to the Mavim Portal
To publish content bilingually to the Mavim Portal, you must first develop your database in multiple languages. Mavim does not automatically translate content, so manual translation is required.
Step-by-Step Guide:

Export the Original Language (e.g., Dutch):
- Select the yellow cabinet in the Dutch data language.
- Go to Modelling → Export → Mavim for Authors document.
- Save the
.mxd
file toTempDisk
. - Click Save. The document will be created in the download folder of your local environment.

Translate the Content:
- Open the
.mxd
file in Word. - Only translate the black text. Do not modify the blue text, as it is used by Mavim to identify and restore content correctly.
- Open the

Import the Translated Document:
- Upload the modified
.mxd
file to the Online Environment. - In Mavim Manager, switch to the target data language (e.g., English) via Tools → Data.
- Go to Modelling → Import → Mavim for Authors document.
- Select the
.mxd
file and click Open.

Create a Version in Both Languages:
- Go to Modelling → Version Management → Create Version.
- After creating the version, select it and click Edit.
- Set the version name per language.
- Go to Modelling → Version Management → Create Version.

Publish to the Portal:
- Publish both the Dutch and English versions separately.
- Note: On the General tab of the Portal settings, you can only set one language for headers and interface labels. This affects all websites.
- If you would like to have a portal directly in both Dutch and English, you would need to use two different portals.
