How to publish content to Mavim Portal

 

Target audience:

Mavim users who want to publish modeled information as a website using Mavim Portal.

Purpose:

Guide users through publishing content to Mavim Portal, configuring settings, and understanding limitations.

Steps to publish to Mavim Portal

1. Open publication settings

  • Go to Modelling Tab > Publication.
  • Select Mavim Portal.

2. Choose a web theme

  • In the Theme section, select an existing Web Theme.
  • Important: Any attached Web Style in the Web Theme is not used in a Mavim Portal publication.

3. Edit theme elements

  • Click Edit in the Theme File section to open the Web Theme screen.
  • Enable or disable elements you want to publish on the SharePoint site.
  • Note: If you uncheck With What in the Relationship Category section, matrices and reports will not appear because they rely on “With What” relationships.

4. Location settings

  • If portal locations are configured, select one from the dropdown next to Mavim Portal.
  • Enter:
    • SQL Server: Name of the SQL Server hosting the Mavim Web Database.
    • SQL Server Database: Name of the Mavim Web Database.
  • For self-hosted portals:
    • Encrypt Connection: Enable if required by your SQL Server configuration.
    • Trust Server Certificate: Enable if required by your SQL Server configuration.
  • Consult your system administrator for these settings.

5. Credentials

  • Enter the necessary SharePoint server credentials.
  • Use Browser login only if Multi-Factor Authentication is required.

6. Start publication

  • Click OK to begin publishing.
  • A feedback screen will display progress and any exclusions.

Publication limits

  • Reports larger than 128 MB are automatically excluded.
  • Matrices with more than 100,000 cells are excluded.
  • The system calculates report and matrix sizes during publication. Use the feedback screen to identify related topics.

Additional notes

  • Mavim Portal does not support MindManager Maps.
  • If you skipped the Chart Consistency Check when creating the version, charts will not be checked during publication. To include chart checks, create a new version with the consistency check enabled.
