How to remove a hyperlink from the Description screen
Target audience:
Users who want to delete hyperlinks from the Description screen, whether they’re text-based or image-based.
Core purpose:
To explain the different ways to remove hyperlinks and clarify what happens to the linked content after removal.
Ways to remove a hyperlink
Option 1: Delete using the keyboard
- If the hyperlink is not editable, it behaves like a single character.
- Select it and press BACKSPACE or DELETE.
- If the hyperlink is editable, simply delete the hyperlink text as you would regular text.
Option 2: Delete using the context menu
- Place your cursor on the hyperlink (text or image).
- Right-click and select Remove Hyperlink.
What happens after deletion
- Text hyperlink: The link is removed, and the text becomes plain text (unless deleted via keyboard).
- Image hyperlink: The hyperlink is removed, but the image remains.
- The relationship between the topics is deleted. If the same hyperlink appears multiple times, only one relationship entry is shown in the Relationships screen.
Important notes
- Removing a hyperlink only deletes the reference to the topic, not the content itself.
- Use the keyboard method if you want to fully remove both the link and its display text.
