How to use the Flow Steps tab in the simulation module
Target audience
Users running simulations in Mavim who need to manage process steps and assign values to attributes.
Core purpose
This article explains what the Flow Steps tab is, how to access it, and how to work with attributes and process steps during a simulation.
Overview
When you start the simulation module in Mavim, it automatically opens on the Flow Steps tab. This tab displays all process steps and allows you to enter values for attributes such as cost and time. It also provides columns for flow sets, weight, and percentage.
Key details
-
Default columns include:
- Flow Steps: Lists all steps in the process, including decision options.
- Weight and Percentage: Used to define probabilities for decision paths (see Weight and Percentage).
- Attributes: Displays all attributes you have created and made available (see Attributes).
-
Interactive feature: Clicking a cell in a row selects the corresponding shape in Visio, so you can easily identify which step you are editing.
-
Example: If you have created attributes named Cost and Time, these columns will appear alongside Flow Steps.
Steps to access the Flow Steps tab
- Start the simulation module. It will open on the Flow Steps tab by default.
- If the module is already running, click the Flow Steps tab to switch to it.
Important notes
- Attributes must be created and enabled before they appear in the Flow Steps tab.
- For more details on attributes, see Create Attribute, Edit Attribute, and Delete Attribute.
- For decision probabilities, see Weight and Percentage.
