What is Translate Explorer?
Translate Explorer is a tool that helps you translate database content when multiple data languages are active. It allows you to view the source and target languages side by side for efficient translation.
Steps to access Translate Explorer
- Go to the Windows tab.
- Select Translate Explorer.
- A second Mavim window opens with the active database.
- In the Windows tab, select Tile Vertically to view both windows side by side.
- Set the required languages in both windows:
- One window should display the source language.
- The other window should display the target language.
How to translate topics
- In the target language window, topics that are not yet translated will have an empty name and/or description.
- To translate:
- Click a topic that has not been translated.
- In the source language window, the topic appears in the source language.
- In the target language window, make sure the desired target data language is selected.
- Enter the translation for the name and description in the target language window.
Important notes
- If fields with the characteristic multiple values are used, the same number of fields will be created in the target language as in the source language.
- Ensure both windows are correctly set to the source and target languages before starting translation.
- Changes are saved directly in the database.
