Icons - Create Icon

Every topic in the Topics screen has an icon. There is a set of standard icons available: see Icons. But it is also possible to create your own icons. You can use any image in the formats: GIF, JPG, JPEG, JPE, BMP, PNG and ICO. The size of the image is not important: the application automatically re-sizes the image to 16 x 16 pixels, 32 bits .PNG icon. For the best result, use a 16 x 16 pixels, 32 bits .PNG icon.

To add your own icons:

1. Select the Administration tab followed by Create Icon.  

2. In the window that opens, browse to the file location and select the image file you want to use.

3. The image is re-sized to 16x16 pixels and saved under Objects in the Icons folder: see Objects. The icon is displayed there with a frame, but the frame is not shown when you use the icon for a Topic.

4. Apply the icon to the topics for which you want to use that icon: see Topic Properties.

Note: You can only apply your own icons to the topic types that do not have a set icon:

see Topic Type.

You can edit or replace the image of an icon you created. See Manage Icons. It is also possible to exchange icons between databases: see Exchange Icons.
