Information Security - Database Security

It is possible to limit user access to a database with a user name and a password.

Only an Administrator can set Read and Write rights for Users and Groups. For more information about the creation of administrators, see: Administrator Management.

To do this:

1. The Administrator creates Users: User Management

2. The Administrator creates Groups: Group Management

3. The Administrator sets Read and Write rights: Security on Topics

A special form of database security involves authorising specific databases for importing versions: see Distribution Lists

Note: It is important that the passwords of users and administrators are properly maintained. Do not forget to apply a password to the default administrator account SUPER. For more information, see: Passwords.
