Optimal settings and habits for working with the Mavim Manager
Mavim users working in the cloud who want the best performance and user experience in Mavim Manager
System setup
Your device setup plays a major role in how well Mavim Manager performs. Follow these recommendations:
-
Screen size: Use a 15” screen or larger
-
Resolution: Minimum 1920 × 1080
-
Display scaling: Set Scale to 125% or lower
-
Note: Some systems (especially 13” laptops) may recommend 150%. Ignore this and use 125% for optimal display.
-
Browser setup
Mavim Manager runs best in Microsoft Edge. Adjust the following settings:
-
Zoom level: Set browser zoom to 100% or lower
-
Browser choice: Use Microsoft Edge and create an Application shortcut for each region (if applicable)
-
Tab deactivation: Turn off the Deactivation of inactive tabs under Settings → System and performance
Recommended working habits
1. Focus on one database at a time
While Mavim Manager allows multiple databases to be open simultaneously, working in several can lead to confusion or performance issues.
-
Stick to one active database.
-
When switching to another, close the previous one from the ribbon.
-
If you’re stepping away for more than 15 minutes, log off from all databases.
Keeping only one database open helps prevent issues like Visio opening in inactive tabs or the appearance that the system is unresponsive.
2. Refresh after an inactive connection
If your session loses connection (for example, after being idle):
-
Press F5 or Refresh in the same browser window.
-
If the session doesn’t reconnect, an orphaned session may have occurred.
