Overview - BPMN Chart - Managing Shape Connections Points

To allow users more flexibility when connecting shapes in a BPMN chart, it is possible to add or remove connection points on all rectangular shapes.

Adding Connection Points:

Follow these steps:

1. Select the shape for which you want to add connection points

2. Open the context menu and select Add Connection Points

This will double the number of connection points on all sides of the shape.

Removing Connection Points:

Follow these steps:

1. Select the shape for which you want to remove connection points

2. Open the context menu and select Remove Connection Points

This will remove half of all connection points on all sides of the shape. This process can be repeated until you end up with the default number of connection points which cannot be removed.

Manage Connection Points:

If you need more control over which sides of a shape need to have more or fewer connection points, you can use the Manage Connection Points screen:

1. Select the shape for which you want to remove connection points

2. Open the context menu and select Manage Connection Points

3. Select if you want to add or remove connection point

4. Now select which sides you want to add or remove connection points using the check boxes

Notice that a visual indication is given to the right of the check boxes to show which sides will be affected.

5. Click OK once your selections are made

The affected shape will be updated with the appropriate connection points.
