Overview - Context menu

The context menu of most charts contains the following commands:

  • Layout - You can align the chart shapes by using the Layout function from the right-click menu. The layout is then adjusted according to the model of the chart type. Other layout options are changed in Visio. You can find extensive information on these options in Visio Help.

  • Adjust Relationships - With the Adjust Relationships command you can change the appearance of the relationships (the connectors) in the chart to suit your needs.

  • Adjust Characteristics - The Adjust Characteristics command is used to change the appearance of the characteristics that are used in a chart. You can change things like the font, alignment and spacing.

  • Hide Numbers - If you have chosen to show numbers for the shapes in a chart, you can temporarily hide these numbers using the Hide numbers command from the context menu.

  • Select chart supertopic - If you would like to know what the supertopic of the currently open chart is, you can use the Select chart supertopic command from the context menu of a page.

  • Show Mavim Rules - If the Mavim window is no longer visible next to the Visio window, you can quickly show it again using the Show Mavim command.

  • Arrange Windows - Normally when working with Mavim and Visio, the windows are arranged next to each other. If for some reason one of the windows is moved or resized and you would like to arrange them neatly side by side again, you can use the Arrange windows command from the context menu of a the page.

  • Export - If you want to save a Visio drawing outside Mavim, you can follow these steps:

    1. Select Export from the context menu of the page.

A window will open allowing you to select a location to save the Visio drawing.

    2. Click Save. The Visio drawing is now saved outside of Mavim and can be opened directly from Visio.
