You can add a swim lane while working on the chart in Visio. This means you are changing the chart definition.
1. Add a swim lane using the Vertical Lane shape: click the shape, drag the shape to where you want the new swim lane to be located, and release the mouse button.
2. Mavim asks you to select the topic in Mavim that will correspond to the new swim lane.
3. After you have selected a topic, Mavim will ask you which relationship category the new swim lane will be part of:
4. Select the Topic in the correct Relationship Category and give any Characteristics Range (chart shows only topics that have a relationship with the characteristic included in the range).
5. After clicking OK, the swim lane is added to the chart.
