Overview - IDEF0 Chart Level Up Level Down

IDEF0 charts form a cohesive hierarchy. This means that a topic in a chart at a certain level can be elaborated upon in another chart (IDEF0, Flowchart or EPC chart.) one level down. Below is an explanation of the creation of a chart and navigation one level up and one level down.

Create and Navigate Chart Level up:

1. Select the topic in the chart upon which you wish to elaborate.

2. Right-click and select Level Down, Open flowchart for subtopics or Open EPC chart for subtopics.

If no chart exists at a lower level then it will be generated. If processes already exist at a lower level in the database then these are included in the chart.

Navigating One Level Up:

To go from a lower level to higher level, right-click and select Level Up.
