Publication - Word Theme Print Tab
On the Print tab, you can set the following options:
1. Table of Contents
You decide how the table of contents is compiled.
· By Mavim Manager
If you generate the table of contents using Mavim, this will be printed immediately before the content of your manual. Any content present in the Word template is ignored during printing. It is of course possible to adjust the reproduction of the table of contents in the final Word document using the themes.
· By Template
If a table of contents based on the outline (field code TOC \o) is included in the template, then this is used and the table of contents is printed in a location specified by the template. If the template lacks a field in which to include a table of contents, or if the table of contents is not based on the layout profile, then the table will not be included in the final Word document.
· None
No table of contents is printed. Mavim will ignore any table of contents in the template.
2. Index
An index is added at the end of the document and consists of only those topics that come from the relationship categories and only in as far as they are indicated in the relationships. Therefore, it is possible to find the pages where e.g. the resources (Topics from the With What relationship category) are referenced, or where the functions (Topics from the Who relationship category) are used.
· By Mavim Manager
If you generate the index with Mavim then it will be printed at the end of the manual, and any index present in the Word template will be ignored.
· By Template
If an index is included in the template, then this is used in the position the template indicates. If a template lacks a field for an index, then there will be no index in the final document.
· None
No index is printed. Mavim will ignore any indexes in the template.
3. Format Descriptions
The format of the descriptions in the Word document can be determined either by Mavim or by the template. Select which one you want to use to determine the format:
· By Mavim Manager
The format of the contents of the description screen will be the same as in Mavim
· By Template
The format of the contents of the description screen will be determined by the template.
4. Header Numbering through entire Document
This option applies a number to each previously unnumbered header layout profile. This number must not be confused with the order number of a part of a topic that can be printed.
The header numbering in the final document can be adjusted via the layout profile.
· By Mavim Manager
The numbering is created by the structure as it is in the tree in Mavim. It will be numbered with 1., 1.1., 2. etc.
· By Template
In the template you can choose a different kind of numbering, such as A, B, C, or I, II, III etc.
· None
There will be no numbering in the document.
Start at level
Here you can choose between Heading 1 and Heading 9.
For example, if you select Heading 2, any topic that has Heading 1 will not be numbered.
Start at
Here you can specify whether you want numbering to start with 1, or a higher number.
5. Levels
· Printing Topics
With this option you can indicate which levels must be printed, starting from the title topic.
· Table of Contents
With this option you can indicate which levels are to be included in the table of contents, starting from the title topic. Word is only capable of including 9 levels in the table of contents, so this is the maximum value.
6. Appendices: Hyperlinks, Relationships, Keep Hyperlinks in Descriptions
Topics that are linked via hyperlinks and/or relationships and are not among the topics to be printed can be added as appendices. Such topics are included in external references within a version. Direct supertopics are also included, but do not appear in the index. If the Hyperlinks option is disabled this will also disable Hyperlinks from being shown in the descriptions of topic. To overcome this, enable the Keep Hyperlinks in Descriptions option.
7. External References
By choosing this option, information from a version that falls into the category External Topics is also printed. If enabled, they will not also be included in the appendices.
8. Charts, Reports and Matrices
Here you can choose to show the captions of charts and matrices. This means that below a chart or matrix it will state "Figure n" (n = 1, 2, 3, ... depending on the number of the figure) followed by the name of the chart or matrix. The language of the caption will be determined by Word.
You can also configure charts, reports and matrices to be inserted into Word publications as an object. Doing so allows you to open and edit the selected object in place. Note that this does not affect the chart, report or matrix in the Mavim database. Charts can be edited using Visio. Reports and Matrices are inserted as Excel workbooks.
