Unable to access a Mavim publication after entering the Mavim Cloud URL

Explain why the publication is no longer accessible and how to restore access when the token signing certificate has expired.

Why this happens

Mavim uses an ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services) link for Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.
If the token signing certificate in ADFS has expired, Mavim can no longer validate authentication requests. As a result, users may see an informational page instead of the intended publication.

How to resolve the issue

  1. Check if the ADFS token signing certificate has expired

    • In your organization’s ADFS management console, verify the certificate expiration date.

    • If expired, renew or replace the certificate.

  2. Export the new token signing certificate

    • Export the updated certificate in Base64 (.CER) format.

    • Ensure the exported file includes the public key.

  3. Send the certificate to Mavim Support

    • Contact Mavim Support and provide the exported certificate (servicedesk@mavim.com).

    • The Mavim team will update the configuration on their side with the new certificate.

  4. Verify the connection

    • Once Mavim has applied the new certificate, test the SSO link again (for example, https://xxx.mavimcloud.com).

    • You should now be able to access the desired publication.

Important notes

  • The web app’s connection to ADFS is a manual configuration.

  • Certificate updates are not applied automatically.

  • You must send the new token signing certificate to Mavim each year when it is renewed or replaced.
