Version Management - Exchange Data between Databases
Information is exchanged between databases is using versions. It is possible to use a selection of data from one database in one or more other databases.
To exchange data, the following steps are necessary:

Create Version Definition. |
Here you define which data from the yellow filing cabinet (Own Compartment) you want to distribute. |

Create Version. See Create Version. |
The Version contains all of the data you want to distribute. A version is depicted as a green file cabinet. |

Export the version to a Transport Database. See Export Version. |
The version is exported to a Transport Database (*.mtdx). |

Import the Transport Database in another database. See Import Version. |
The transport database is imported in another database and is displayed as a purple filing cabinet. |

Use the data of the Imported Version in the other database. See Use Imported Data. |
The data in the purple file cabinet can be used in several ways. |
