Version Management - Revision Information
Revision is a form of communication where the developer adds comments to the new version of the information that will be published. For website publication, this gives the user information regarding the changes made since the publication of the previous version.
Revision information is created in the yellow filling cabinet (own compartment). Revision information can be added to every topic in the database and will be saved in the form of a With What relationship.
Add Revision Information:
1. Select a topic to which you want to add revision information.
2. Click Add revision information from the Relate group on the Edit tab (or use the context menu).
3. In the window that appears, you can enter your remarks.
Delete Revision Information:
If you generate a new version (see Create Version), the revision information is included. You will be asked if you want to remove the revision information from the database. This is important as the revision information in the version you have just generated is probably only relevant to this version, and not to future versions. If you choose to remove the revision information, all revision information topics are removed from your own compartment. Of course, the revision information is still stored in the created version.
Revision information can also be manually removed for each item. You can do this by going to Comments in the Object tree. It will also show which user made the revision information or comment.
Edit Revision information:
If you have selected a topic that already has revision information, you can edit this afterwards. If you click the relationship with the revision information, you will see the revision information in the description screen. You can now edit it.
You can also edit the revision information by going to the topic itself in the Object tree below Comments. It will also show the user that made the revision information.
Show Revision Information in Web Publications:
Users can see all revision topics under a separate heading in the topic tree on the website. Also, a revision icon is shown for each topic that has revision information. This alerts web users to the extra information.
You can enter an alternative name for the Revisions function in the Web theme.
