Why Can’t I Delete a User in the MCC ?
In the Mavim Connect Center (MCC), users may notice that some accounts cannot be deleted and are marked with an “i” icon, while others have an edit button. This behavior is linked to Mavim’s named-user licensing model and the license reassignment policy.
Use Case
This article is relevant when:
- You are trying to delete or reassign a user license in MCC.
- You see an
icon next to a user instead of an
button.
- You want to understand the license reassignment limitations.
Explanation
Named-User Licensing Model
Mavim licenses are assigned to specific named users. By default, licenses cannot be freely reassigned unless your contract includes a Re-Assignable License clause.
If you want full flexibility to reassign licenses, contact your Mavim Account Manager to request a quote and update your agreement.
License Reassignment Rules
Grace Period (First 2 Months After Purchase)
- You can freely reassign licenses to set up your project team.
After the Grace Period
- Users created during the grace period cannot be reassigned for 12 months.
- New users created after the grace period are locked for 12 months from their creation date.
- License type changes also trigger a 12-month lock.
- 15-minute window: After creating or modifying a user, you have 15 minutes to correct errors.
What Does the “i” Icon Mean?
- The “i” icon indicates that the user is locked due to license restrictions.
- You cannot delete or edit this user unless an exception is granted.
What You Can Do
- Contact your Account Manager: Request a one-time license reassignment with justification.
- If approved, the Service Desk can unlock the user so you can delete or reassign the license.
