How To

Creating charts in Mavim can either either be based on a Topic structure you have created in Mavim; or modeled completely in Visio.

Creating a Structure in Mavim:

1. Select the Topic that will be the parent Topic and the one used to create the chart.
2. Create Topics lower to the parent Topic.
3. For each Topic you create; select the appropriate Topic Type. For instance: Start; Activity; Decision; Stop.
4. Now select the parent Topic once more.
5. Switch to the Modeling tab on the Ribbon.
6. From the Overview group; select the chart type you want to create.
7. Visio will now be opened and shapes will automatically be added based on the structure you created in Mavim.

You can adjust the chart as needed and save it.

Creating a Chart From Within Visio:

1. Select or create a Topic that will be the parent Topic for your chart.
2. With this Topic selected; switch to the Modeling tab in the Ribbon.
3. From the Overview group; select the chart type you want to create.
4. Once in Visio; start placing shapes to create the chart you want.

Any shapes you place in the chart will automatically be created in Mavim as well with the appropriate structure.
