How To
Creating fields for use in your Mavim database is quite easy. Simply follow these steps:
NOTE: You will need Administrator rights to create fields.
- In Mavim; switch to the Administration tab on the Ribbon.
- Now click Field Administration.
- Click the New button next to Available Fields to create a new field
- Give the new field a Name.
- The Field will now be visible on the left. With the new field selected; adjust the properties found in the lower section of the screen.
You can change the following properties:
- Type
- Multiple Languages
- Multiple Values
- MultiLine
- Hyperlink
- Default Value
- Read-only
- Required
- Usage
- Once all values have been filled in as needed; you can click the Close button.
NOTE: Not all properties are available all of the time. They depend on the type of Field you have created.
Creating the field is the first step in actually assigning it to a topic. Only field sets can be assigned to topics and each field must be assigned to a field set to be used. Please check the following Knowledge Base article for more information on creating Field Sets.
