How To

In Mavim there are multiple ways to create relationships between your Topics. Using a Matrix gives a great visual representation of who is responsible for what and it also allows you to add relationships as needed. To create a Matrix; simply follow these steps:

NOTE: The Matrix function contains a lot of features allowing you to get the result you want but for this example we will be working with a very basic Matrix.

  1. Select the parent Topic for which you want to create the new Matrix. Note that any topics under the parent topic will automatically be included in the Matrix.
  2. Open the context menu on the topic and select New Matrix.
  3. The Matrix Definition screen appears with the Range tab selected.
  4. Using the various Relationship Type buttons; select the type of relationship you want to add to the Matrix range. Note that you can multi-select Topics in these screens.
  5. Once all desired relationships have been added to the Matrix range; click OK to generate the Matrix.
  6. Each cell can be clicked to add or change a relationship between the corresponding Topics.

At any time; the Matrix definition can be changed and when changes are made; the new results will be shown. This allows you to easily re-define your matrix definition to achieve the results you need.
