Manager - chart is already open Question: Opening a Visio chart from the Mavim -- KA-01631
Question: Opening a Visio chart from the Mavim Manager gives the message that the chart is already open:
Answer:
If the specified user no longer has Mavim Manager open; then a 'floating' session is still open for this user.
A 'floating' session occurs when:
- Mavim Manager crashed and therefore could not be closed properly.
- A user stops working with Mavim Manager; but does not close Mavim Manager via File - Close or the Mavim Manager close button.
When you close Mavim Manager via the close button from the browser; the session does not stop.
- A dialog box appears with an abort button; when you see this screen; you should refresh the browser with the refresh button and not click on the abort button.
-You leave the Mavim Manager open for a long time without working in it; causing the browser to go into sleep mode. See here how you can change the browser settings for a longer time out: https://my.mavim.com/en-US/knowledge-base/article/KA-01607
-The battery settings are set so that it goes into a sleep mode after a few minutes. See below an example of the settings that can cause a floating session:
A floating session ends automatically after 6 hours; you cannot end this session yourself; the service desk will have to do it for you
If a session crashes and you still have the Mavim Manager screen in front of you; you can end it yourself; see below: https://my.mavim.com/en-US/knowledge-base/article/KA-01596
A consequence of a floating session is that your profile is not read properly. When you restart the Mavim Manager; for example; the set language will not be read properly. This can be solved by ending the floating session and then restarting the Mavim Manager.
