Manager - give external user rights to database Question: How can a partner with their own -- KA-01578
Question:
How can a partner with their own Mavim account access our database?
Answer:
Users from outside your environment can be assigned to a database through the MCC.
As a condition; the assigned user must have their own Mavim Manager license and you must first inform the Mavim service desk which external user (partner) may have access to the database(s). Mavim then ensures that this user is given rights to access your database(s).
However; only 1 partner can be linked in the background; for example when PartnerA is linked you can add users of PartnerA. If PartnerB is then linked instead of PartnerA; then the already linked users of PartnerA can still be in the database (as long as you do not remove the access) but you can only add new users of PartnerB; so in order to be able to add users of PartnerA again; the Mavim service desk must link Partner A again instead of PartnerB.
All linked users (both from PartnerA and PartnerB) can work together in the database.
If the service desk has given a partner rights; you must give the user rights to the desired database(s). You can do this in the MCC (https://connectcenter.mavimcloud.com) on the Mavim Manager – Databases tab
Behind the relevant database(s) press the Edit icon
Enter the relevant partner email address behind 'Partner email address';
Click on 'Search user' and the relevant Partner will appear in the list under 'All partners';
Move this user to the right column under 'Database partners' and click Save; when the partner now restarts Mavim Manager it will see the relevant database(s) appear and be able to log in automatically.
