Once you have created the appropriate Version Definition; you can start to create versions of the information stored in Mavim based on these definitions.
- On the Ribbon; switch to the Modelling tab.
- Select the Version Management drop-down and select Create Version.
- Now select the desired Version Definition on which to base the version.
- Check the Definition Content section to make sure the appropriate topics are included.
- Click Next to start the creation of a version.
- The Create Version screen appears and you have the option to add a description to the version. This could be for instance the date it was created or any other information that is of importance.
- In the Consistency Check section; you can choose to use:
- Chart Consistency - This will ensure that all charts are consistent. Any inconsistencies can be fixed on the fly. It is also possible to enable the Automatically check visio charts option. The check will be executed when the version is created.
- Check Fields now - Clicking this button will perform a check to ensure that all required fields are filled in for the topics that are to be included in the version.
- Once everything is ready; click Create to generate the version.
Once the version is created; you can now publish the information in the version to any of the available platforms (Word document; classic website or Portal).
