Question:
How can I use a picture as my Homepage and create links on it?
Answer:
Create a new element (for example; call it ‘Homepage’) and open a generic Chart here via Modelling - Overview - Generic Chart:
The following screen will appear; do not change anything in the settings; click OK
Double Click on ‘Blank Drawing’.
First; save the drawing and choose Insert - Pictures - Pictures:
select the desired shape:
Note: If the shape is large (in terms of MB's) it may take longer to load the homepage on the Portal;
click the 'Compress Picture' button here to make the shape smaller or do this with third party software before loading the shape into Visio.
Save the picture again and place shapes over the images. To do so; click More shapes - General - Basic shapes:
Drag a shape to the desired location in the picture and save the drawing:
Link the shape to a topic in Mavim; by right-clicking on the shape and choosing 'Connect to a topic in Mavim Manager'.
Now the text of the linked topic will appear in the shape.
You can edit this by right-clicking on the shape and choosing 'Format shape'.
Set the Transparency to 99% (you can still click on it because of this) and under Line select 'No line'.
Under the Home tab; click on the arrow at 'Font' and in the window that appears; set the transparency to 100%.
Click OK and the shape is linked in the desired way
