The Multi Field Slicer can be used to filter on certain case or event attributes while performing process mining analysis. It is used to apply filters for multiple data fields on the various dashboarding pages. This visual helps to save space on the dashboard pages; as a separate slicers does not have to be used for each filter value. The Multi Field Slicer visual can be used to filter data attributes in your process mining analysis. The data fields in the Multi Field Slicer can be filter on a singular level or in multiple drilltrough levels. Therefore this visual is applicable in the dashboarding in multiple ways and allows for different functionality use cases. By using the buttons "Go to the next level in the hierarchy" and "Drill up"; you can navigate between the multiple levels of data and select the values of the next or previous data attribute which is displayed in the visual.

Configure the visual

This is the icon of the Multi-Field Slicer in the visualizations pane in Power BI:

 

To use the Multi Field Slicer visual you need to build up the visual and drag the relevant data field into their respective buckets.

Data fields

In order to build up; the Multi-Field slicer; you can drag any attribute from any table you want to filter with. 

DrillDown/-up

By using the buttons Go to the next level in the hierarchy and Drill up ; the values of the next or previous attribute can be displayed in the visual.

To access the next attribute press Go to the next level in hierarchy :

And to access the previous attribute press Drill up:

 

Expand

By pressing the button Expand all down one level in the hierarchy several values can be added to the dropdown at the same time.

This is saved in the visual and filter values can be subsequently set for all set attributes by selecting the attributes in the dropdown. In the first screen only Document Type is displayed; by clicking on in the second step additionally Plant is displayed and after a third click on additionally PaymentTerm.

Filtering & Clear Selection

By selecting values in the result list; filters are directly created for them. Switching to another attribute does not delete existing filters. Once a value has been selected for an attribute; the reset button is displayed next to the selection dropdown; this deletes all selected values; even those of attributes that are not currently displayed.

Format the visual
