Variants tab A process variant is a possible path through -- KA-01555

A process variant is a possible path through the process flow from start to finish. On this page; you can evaluate typical process key figures and analyzes that provide insight into the performance of your process in terms of variants.


This Tab has different elements:

  • As main feature of the page you can see the Process Analyzer. 
  • On the right side; there is a navigation bar (similar to the other pages. you can see an overview of your variants in three different KPI cards.
  • Furthermore; the distribution of your variants grouped by the year. And the table visual display each variant id additional data attributes

Variants report overview


1. Menu
Use the buttons in the menu to navigate between pages in the Mavim Process Mining report.
2. Process Analyzer
With the Process Analyzer visual you visualize the process flow and all its variations.
3. Duration
The Duration Card will show you the average duration of the selected cases (in days; hours; minutes; seconds)
4. Variants
This shows the amount of unique process sequences from the total event log. Depending on the selection the gauge will show its respective amount of unique process variants.
5. Events
The number of total events executed is shown.
6. Unique variants
This shows the unique percentage of all variants which is unique. Meaning that only 1 cases executed this exact process sequence of activities.
7. Year Filter
Select one or more years to filter the applicable Variant IDs for further analysis.
8. Overview
Each Variant ID is shown with its respective #Cases; #Events; #Unique activities; #Loops; #SelfLoops.
9. Variants Viewer

Enable the toggle switch to show the Case Analyzer visual formatted specifically for each unique Variant Id.
10. Drillthrough
Use this button to apply certain filtering on the Variants analysis tab and include this filtering into another report page for further process analysis.
11. Reset
Use this button to reset all filtering options and start from scratch on this report page.
