Create a connection between a Mavim topic and a Dynamics screen

Target audience

Users who want to link Mavim topics with relevant Dynamics 365 screens.

Core purpose / goal

Help users couple one or more Dynamics screens to a Mavim topic using the Dynamics Connection Manager.

Key information / steps to include

Open the Dynamics Connection Manager

Users can open it with any of these options:

Ribbon, Tools tab, Web section, External connections website, Dynamics…
Ribbon, Edit tab, Couple topic with, Dynamics…
Right‑click a Mavim topic, then select Couple topic with, Dynamics…

Select the Mavim topic

In the left-hand section, choose the topic you want to link.

Select the Dynamics screen

In the right-hand section, enable the checkbox for each Dynamics screen that should be coupled.
Multiple screens can be linked.
If the list is empty, a Dynamics Excel sheet must be imported first. Reference: Import Dynamics Excel sheet.

Apply and test the coupling

Select Apply to save the coupling.
Use Check address to verify the connection works.
Repeat these steps for additional topics as needed.

Finalize

Select OK after all couplings are created.

Disconnect a coupling

Clear the checkbox for a Dynamics screen.
Confirm using Apply or OK.

Additional note

Selecting the Connection button swaps the left and right sections and their functions.

Important notes / warnings / prerequisites

Dynamics screens must be imported before they can be linked.
Users need permissions to open and use the Dynamics Connection Manager.
Program Codes and Form Names come from Dynamics administrators.
