What the Dynamics Connection Manager does

The Dynamics Connection Manager is used to manage all links between Mavim topics and Dynamics screens.

How to open the Dynamics Connection Manager

Users can open it through any of these paths:

Ribbon, Tools tab, Web section, External connections website, Dynamics
Ribbon, Edit tab, Couple topic with section, Dynamics
Right‑click a Mavim topic, then select Couple topic with, Dynamics

Views in the Dynamics Connection Manager

The manager supports two views. Users can switch between them with the Topic and Connection buttons in the top-left corner.

Topic view

Mavim topics appear on the left, Dynamics screens on the right.
The selected topic is the reference point.
Shows which Dynamics screens are linked to the selected topic.
Users can connect or disconnect the topic from multiple Dynamics screens.

Connection view

Dynamics screens appear on the left, Mavim topics on the right.
The selected Dynamics screen is the reference point.
Shows which Mavim topics are linked to that Dynamics screen.
Users can connect or disconnect the Dynamics screen to or from multiple topics.

Buttons available in both views

All buttons are located on the right side of the window.

New
Add new Dynamics connections.

Edit
Modify existing AX connections.

Delete
Remove AX connections.
Import
Import a Dynamics AX Excel sheet.

Export the current configuration to create a Dynamics AX Excel sheet.

Edit Servers
Edit available Dynamics servers. These servers can be selected when creating Dynamics links.

Filtering Dynamics screens

A Filter button is available at the top of the Dynamics screens list.
Users can enter full or partial text to refine the list of screens.

Important notes, warnings, prerequisites

Users must have permission to access Dynamics settings in Mavim.
Some actions require predefined Dynamics Form Names or Program Codes supplied by a Dynamics administrator.
Dynamics screen lists may be empty until a Dynamics Excel sheet is imported.
