How to check required fields before creating a version
Target audience
Users who need to verify that all mandatory fields have values before creating a version.
Core purpose
This article explains how to use the Check Fields feature to identify and fill required fields that are empty.
Steps to check required fields
- Go to the Tools tab.
- In the Review group, select Check Fields.
- The Check Fields window appears.
- The window lists all topics with required fields that do not yet contain values.
- Select each topic individually and enter the required values in the mandatory fields.
- To save changes before closing the window, click Save Changes.
Important notes
- When creating a version, required fields are automatically checked.
- If any required fields are empty, the version cannot be created. See Create Version for details.
