How to check required fields before creating a version

 

Target audience

Users who need to verify that all mandatory fields have values before creating a version.

Core purpose

This article explains how to use the Check Fields feature to identify and fill required fields that are empty.

Steps to check required fields

  1. Go to the Tools tab.
  2. In the Review group, select Check Fields.
    • The Check Fields window appears.
  3. The window lists all topics with required fields that do not yet contain values.
  4. Select each topic individually and enter the required values in the mandatory fields.
  5. To save changes before closing the window, click Save Changes.

Important notes

  • When creating a version, required fields are automatically checked.
  • If any required fields are empty, the version cannot be created. See Create Version for details.
