How to configure available icons for topic types
Target Audience:
Administrators managing topic types and icon availability in Mavim.
Core Purpose/Goal:
This article explains how administrators can configure which icons are available for each topic type and set the order in which they appear in the user interface.
Steps to configure icons for topic types:
-
Open the icon configuration screen
Navigate to the section where icons are managed for topic types. This screen displays icons grouped by topic type in a tree structure. -
Expand the topic type tree
- Each topic type is shown as a parent node.
- Click the arrow next to a topic type to expand and view its child icons.
- Example: Flowchart may have a child icon called Activity, which contains multiple icons for the Activity topic type.
-
Select icons for each topic type
- Check the boxes next to the icons you want to make available for that topic type.
- Only selected icons will appear for users when they create or edit topics of that type.
-
Arrange the icon order
- Highlight the icon you want to move.
- Use the arrow buttons on the right side of the screen:
- Single arrows move the icon one position up or down.
- Double arrows move the icon to the top or bottom of the list.
- This determines the order in which icons appear in the user interface.
-
Verify configuration
- Open a topic of the configured type (e.g., Activity).
- Check that only the selected icons are available and displayed in the specified order.
Important notes:
- Requires Administrator privileges.
- Changes apply to all users in the Mavim database.
- Configuration can be done for all topic types.
