How to copy data from a created version to the yellow cabinet
In Mavim, data can only be copied to the yellow cabinet from an Imported version. This is not possible directly from a Created version. To work around this limitation, you can convert a Created version into an Imported version.
Steps to convert and copy data
-
Export the Created version
-
From your database, export the Created version to a location such as
H:\Mavim
.
-
-
Import into another database
-
Import the exported version into another Mavim database, for example, the training database.
-
-
Copy the version to the yellow cabinet
-
Right-click the Imported version in the training database and select Copy.
-
Right-click the yellow cabinet in the same database and choose Paste – lower.
-
-
Create a new version
-
In the training database, create a new version that includes the data just copied into the yellow cabinet.
-
-
Export the new version
-
Export this newly created version from the training database back to
H:\Mavim
.
-
-
Import into the original database
-
Import the exported version from
H:\Mavim
into your original database.
-
At this point, the data exists in your original database as an Imported version, so you can now copy it to the yellow cabinet as needed.
Notes
-
Direct copy from a Created version to the yellow cabinet is not supported.
-
Using the export/import process ensures that the version is converted into an Imported version.
