How to create a web form in Mavim

Target audience:

Users who want to build and manage web forms within the Mavim Development environment.

Purpose:

Guide users through creating a web form using existing field sets and customizing its layout.

Prerequisites:

  • Field sets must already exist in the Mavim Development environment.
  • For instructions on creating field sets, see Fields.

Steps to create a web form:

1. Open the Web Form Definitions window

  • Go to the Tools tab.
  • Select Manage Web Form Definitions.
    The Web Form Definitions window will appear.

2. Add a new web form definition

  • In the Web Form definitions section, click New.
    The Add New Web Form Definition window appears.
  • Enter a name for the new web form definition and click OK.

3. Select field sets

  • In the Web Form definition properties section, check the boxes next to the field sets you want to include.
  • Click Edit Layout.
    The Web Form Editor will open.

4. Configure the layout

In the Web Form Editor:
  • The left panel shows available fields; the right panel shows fields assigned to the form.
  • To add fields:
    • Select one or more fields in the left panel.
    • Click the right-pointing arrow to move them to the right panel.
  • To arrange fields:
    • Use the vertical arrows in the right panel to set the display order.
  • To make a field mandatory:
    • Check the Mandatory box for that field.

5. Save the layout

  • Click OK to close the Web Form Editor.
  • Click Close to exit the Web Form Definitions screen.
    Your web form definition is now created.

Where to find your web form

  • Navigate to Objects > Web Form definitions.
    You can include these web forms in web publications.

Important notes:

  • Web forms cannot be created without field sets.
  • Mandatory fields must be filled when the form is used.
