How to Export Data from the Mavim Database

Mavim Manager offers several options to export data from the database, depending on your intended use.

1. XML Export

  • Navigate to Modeling → Export → Mavim XML document.
  • This export is suitable for technical use or integration with other tools.
  • Note: You may need to modify the XML to match the requirements of your target environment.
  • For technical details, refer to the documentation starting from page 50 under “15 XML”.

2. Word Publication

  • Go to Modeling → Publication → Word document.
  • This export is ideal for documentation or reference purposes.
  • You can also use this method to export Visio charts.
Exporting Charts via Word:
  1. In the Word publication screen, click Edit under Word theme.
  2. Go to the Print tab.
  3. Check Insert charts as objects.
  4. After generating the Word document:
    • Right-click a chart → Object → Open.
    • The chart opens in Visio, where you can save it as a .vsdx file.

3. Exporting a Single Chart

  • Open the chart in Mavim Manager.
  • Right-click on the drawing sheet → Export.
  • Save the chart as .vsd or .vsdx on TempDisk (downloads directly to your local folder).
If TempDisk gives an error:
  • Save the file to the H:\ or S:\ drive in the Cloud.
  • Then download it manually to your local environment.
