How to export simulation results to Excel
Target audience:
Users who have completed a process simulation in Mavim and want to export the results for further analysis.
Core purpose/goal:
Guide users through exporting simulation results from Mavim to an Excel file, including what each export option contains.
Prerequisites:
- A completed simulation in the Mavim simulation module
- Access to the Export function
- Excel installed for viewing the exported file
Steps to export simulation results:

Click the Export button
This opens the export options for your simulation results. -
Choose what to include in the export
Select one or both of the following options:- Current Data – Exports the data currently displayed in the simulation.
- All Paths – Exports all detected paths and their associated data.

Save the file
- Navigate to the desired location on your computer
- Enter a file name
- Click Save
The simulation results are now exported and available for use in Excel.
What’s included in the export?
If you select Current Data:
The Excel file will contain at least the following tabs:
- Summary – Image of the chart and contents of the Flow Steps, Paths, and Simulation tabs
- Flow Steps – All data from the Flow Steps tab
- Paths – All paths shown in full from the Paths tab
- Simulation – All paths shown in full from the Simulation tab
If you select All Paths:
The Excel file will contain:
- One tab for each path, including:
- Information about the path from the Paths tab
- An image of the chart with the relevant path highlighted
Important notes:
- The exported file is in Excel format (.xlsx)
- Ensure you have permission to save files in the selected location
- If sharing the file, check for sensitive data before distribution
