This article explains how to import the required Dynamics AX Excel sheet into the Dynamics Connection manager so that screen couplings can be created.
Key information and steps to include
A specific Excel sheet is needed before you can couple Mavim topics with Dynamics AX screens. This sheet contains Dynamics AX screen names and codes, and it must be created by a Dynamics AX consultant.
How to import the Dynamics AX Excel sheet
Open the Dynamics AX Connection manager using one of these options:
- In the ribbon, select the Tools tab, go to the Web section, and choose External connections website > Dynamics…
- In the ribbon, select the Edit tab, go to Couple topic with, and choose Dynamics…
- Right click a topic in the Mavim tree, select Couple topic with, then choose Dynamics…
Once the Connection manager is open:
- Click Import…
- A file selection window appears.
Navigate to the location of the Excel sheet, select it, and click Open - A confirmation screen is shown. Click OK
The imported Dynamics AX data is now available in the right-hand section of the Connection manager.
If you click the Connection button, the left and right sections will switch places and functionality. For more details, see Connection manager: Dynamics.
Important notes
- The Excel sheet must contain valid Dynamics AX screen names and codes.
