How to import an existing ArchiMate chart into Mavim Manager

If you already have an ArchiMate chart created outside Mavim, you can import it into Mavim Manager. This requires using an Open Group Exchange File (.xml) format.

Steps to import an ArchiMate diagram

  1. Make sure the existing ArchiMate diagram is provided as an Open Group Exchange File (.xml).

  2. In Mavim, create a new topic.

  3. On this topic, open a new ArchiMate chart.

  4. Right-click in the drawing of the new ArchiMate chart.

  5. Select Import from Open Group Exchange file.

  6. Choose the provided .xml file.

  7. Run the import. The ArchiMate chart will now appear in Mavim Manager.

Notes

  • The import only works with Open Group Exchange (.xml) files. Other formats cannot be imported.

  • After importing, you can edit and enrich the diagram directly in Mavim Manager.
