This article explains how to import an Excel sheet containing Infor M3 screen names and codes into the M3 Connection Manager, enabling topic coupling in Mavim.

Prerequisites:

  • The Excel sheet must be created by an Infor M3 consultant.
  • The sheet should contain valid Infor M3 screen names and codes.
  • You must have access to the M3 Connection Manager in Mavim.

Steps to import the Excel sheet:

1. Open the M3 Connection Manager

You can access the M3 Connection Manager in three ways:
  • In the ribbon, select Tools tab > Web section > External connections website > M3...
  • In the ribbon, select Edit tab > Couple Topic with > M3...
  • Right-click a Mavim topic, open the context menu, and select Couple Topic with > M3...

2. Click Import...

This opens the import dialog.

3. Select the Excel sheet

  • Navigate to the location of the Excel file.
  • Select the file and click Open.

4. Confirm the import

  • A confirmation screen will appear.
  • Click OK to proceed.

5. Verify imported data

  • The imported screen names and codes will appear in the right-hand section of the Connection Manager.
  • Tip: If you click the Connection button, the right and left sections will switch location and functionality. For details, see Connection Manager: M3.

Important notes:

  • Ensure the Excel sheet is formatted correctly before importing.
  • Incorrect or missing codes may prevent successful coupling.
